Lines are usually fairly short for tickets and consessions and move quickly. We need a little theater in a larger complex for the rest of us who look week after week for something to go to and end up staying home and watching movies on Netflix or Amazon. They are showing the same stuff everyone else is showing which means they are just dividing the bodies that go to movies amongst themselves. When this theater was about to open we were told it would show, in addition to the big movies, some independent and foreign films. All in all this is a great movie theater and I would recommend going! They even care about the community by using local advertising and having a day where ones with special needs get discounted tickets with their families. They have their rewards system in place now so you can earn points on your purchases. The sound is amazing in their MPX theater and Dolby atoms theater! They have self serve soda machines with tons of flavors. Maya Cinemas 16 Fresno is way better than any other theater I have been to. Maya cinemas is an excellent, high quality movie theater that sets itself apart from the slightly cheaper theaters around the area. The crying rooms are excellent, since it gives me a quiet space to go back, and still enjoy the movie even if my daughter gets fussy in the middle of the show. The one thing I absolutely love, though, are the crying rooms, which is great, because I love seeing movies, but I can hardly ever find somebody to watch my baby. This theater is a little pricey, but its incredibly clean, with comfortable stadium seating, and great sound systems. Especially if you have small children and still want to go to movies! I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone in Fresno/Clovis area. The staff was very friendly and it was not crowded. Only con I have about the bathroom is it needs a baby changer for parents with infants in case they need to bring their baby with them and change them so their older children can watch a movie. There was a bathroom right next to the cry room. It was an amazing experience for my 2 1/2 year old toddler and great for myself as a mom. I went here for my daughters first movie (Moana) and asked for a cry room. The close proximity to so many different food choices make it a great to place go if youre in the Fresno State area. This theater is very nice though, especially since it is so new. As is becoming more and more common, they will search your bags for weapons (and probably food and drink as well) before theyll let you enter. Over-priced concessions are typical of any movie theater so be prepared to give them your arm and your leg if you want to buy any. Some of the theaters are rather small, but the seating is very comfortable and gives you plenty of space. Ive never had an issues at here with people being obnoxious or technical issues. During the movie I was going out to use the restroom, one of the employers were standing by the hallway in the audtorims watching movie, and i walked past and he just kept watching like hes a customer. And the cashiers in the consessions, they havent even count on yet, they were just standing around and when people come they start to count on, which takes at least 7 mins for me to get my order. When we first walked in, we saw two employees just sitting back, chit chatting. Employees standing around, and employees just following each other to another. When we walk out of the theater, they dont even say "Thank You." They just look at you and pretend like they saw nothing. They may have a nice theater but their operations are WORST. My daughters 6th birthday party had to be cancelled and Maya Cinemas officially has the worst customer service and management ever! I would never recommend this place. I went in and got my refund today and not once have I received an apology. A manager didnt call me at all, a girl who doesnt even do the parties called me back. I called & talked to someone, left a voicemail on the management line AND sent an email. (They do a party room for an hour and a movie before or after.) They couldnt change our party time and did NOT even offer to TRY to accommodate us. We booked it at Maya Cinemas a month ago and they decided to call me Thursday, THREE days before the party to tell me they now will not have any kids movies showing during her party time. I am so incredibly upset that I had to cancel My daughters birthday party.
